Think Bingo Review

The colour pink, in the context of online casino and bingo domains, seems to come in two forms. On the one hand, you have garish, brazen pink, which looks a bit cheap and tacky. On the other, you’ve got a more pristine pink which is polished and pruned. Thankfully, for our eyes at least, Think Bingo is the latter.

The colour itself is something of an enigma. The stereotype of pink is ‘girlie’– think movies like Legally Blonde and other icons of cinema, and pop culture. And yet pink is one of the most popular hues of the moment, just the other day we saw a very masculine looking guy sporting pink trainers and a pink iPhone 7 hanging out on the street corner. Pink flourishes have long been really popular with men’s clothing brands overall, too.

As such, while our cultural heritage here in the West may make you assume that pink denotes femininity, that’s really something we have learned, rather than had hard wired into our systems, and for all intents and purposes is no longer relevant. In this instance, it also makes for a rather appealing landing page and overall website design, especially when combined with midnight blues and purples, a decision that we have to say elevates Think Bingo above many of its competitors aesthetically. Well done, then.

Veering Away From Standard

Aside from that, this is one of the few home pages we’ve seen that actually differs from the standard format. So, although at the top of the page you have the brand, along with a short row of menu links – Home, Bingo, Games, Promotions- and then a static section advertising how the website offers ‘Amazing jackpots every six minutes!’ (certainly something worth showing off about), if you continue down the page things get a bit more interesting.

First up, there’s a rolling ticker displaying user names and recent winnings. OK, so that’s maybe not so revolutionary, but then below this there’s a Bingo table which is actually interactive. So, the first table shown reveals what is being won in the Free Bingo rooms. As you’d expect, these jackpots are pretty low- although when we tested the site the figures went as high as £250, which isn’t bad if you haven’t actually spent any money on the game.

There are also tabs for 90-Ball, 75-Ball, Jackpots, Bingo Party, 5K Eggcellent and 2K Sunnyside. Quite why there are egg references is unclear, and we’ll come to each individually, but at least there’s clarity at a glance in terms of what this website offers. And this continues further down the page, as you’re then shown a selection of Featured Games, which are basically a combination of slots and other instant win games, again clarifying there’s more to this website than mere bingo alone.

How to Play

You might think that, given there’s a whole interactive table advertising exactly what type of bingo is on offer at Think Bingo, that there’s no need to have a separate bingo area of the site available before you actually sign in. Well, think again, kids. Clicking on the bingo option in the menu on the top of the page brings you to what looks like just the aforementioned bingo table. And it is, only this time with an entire section dedicated to How To Play. Each variation on the bingo formula has it’s own section explaining the ins and outs, and with more than some badly chosen font going for it. Far better than we have seen elsewhere for sure.

Other Games on Offer

If you then click on the Games option on the top menu row you’ll be taken through to a selection of slots, and by selection we mean a huge choice. This is great for people who want something other than just straight up bingo, and really ensures this site is going to prove much more popular than many of its competitors will.

Overall the slots are of a very high, modern standard and should appeal to even those gamers who have been slotting (if that’s even a phrase in this context) for years. Far better than the average ‘digital pub’ fare that we were given for years and years when gambling first went online.

Think Promotions

So far so good, given everything we have described above you would think that Think Bingo is going to have some impressive deals and offers for players. Well, in some ways it does have things to promote, but perhaps not in the way most people would be expecting.

For starters, there’s no obvious introductory offering for new members. This may well be here, but hidden away somewhere. We’ve also criticised other sites for placing too much emphasis on this, which makes you wonder if those sites are actually any good- surely the content speaks for itself rather than having to lure people in with a good deal to welcome them. Which would therefore mean Think Bingo is confident enough in what it offers to not have to resort to such gimmicky offerings.

Having said that, if there’s no intro offer whatsoever then this is a huge oversight, as many people will be attracted by getting more for their money when they first become a member. When you click on the Promotions option on the main menu row one thing immediately does jump out, and again it’s not great. There’s an entire box out that’s missing. You can see the outline of this, but there’s nothing inside. Considering how polished the overall site is, and how slick most of it feels, this looks even worse – when a website isn’t very good to begin with then you can almost forgive such shortcomings more than when effort has been put in but no final page check has taken place to ensure every inch is up to scratch. It’s like putting a magazine out without a final proof and edit after the text has been laid out.

Tempting Offers

The Promotions page itself does have some pretty tempting offers that are available to all players, though. For starters, Casinoland gives you 25% cashback on wagers of £20 and above, which isn’t too bad, albeit 25% of £20 is very little indeed. Still, better than a smack in the face with a cast iron boxing glove.

The New Game Party refers to a deal that takes place every Monday night. Basically, try out the new games that the site has introduced and you’ll get up to 30 free spins of the slots, which is definitely a great way of showing off the overall content of the site, and getting people to try new things. We’re not sure, but it could also be a tactic to improve Google rankings for the site, as it means there will be more page views on individual pages, providing the slots work like normal pages (we’re not clear on this though). Finally, Bingo Bingo Party is also pretty appealing- every night between 7pm and 11pm (pretty early start and finish for a party, really) cards are sold for just 5p, and jackpots handed out every six minutes. PARTY TIME!!!

Think Bingo Conclusion

Overall, Think Bingo is a great site that has plenty to offer. Lots of different types of bingo available, with great guides on how to play for newcomers, and the choice of slots is massive, again something we approve of. There could be better (and more) promotional offers on the table, and there’s not prompt for mobile users. The lack of obvious means of contacting the site also marks it down, but fundamentally everyone here is onboard.
