In the Dead of Night

We’re not sure what time of day this game has been set, but it looks like the kind of meeting that would take place at night, in the grandest of homes; at least we know the grand part is correct. The room the matrix is housed within is so decadent and oozing with a rich tapestry of heritage, though you can’t escape that feeling that something isn’t quite right here…

Winning Symbols

Despite the game looking like it was going to be filled to the brim with special features and hefty rewards, it isn’t that generous in the way of money or features. And while it took us a while to locate where the brand had hidden their paytable, we finally found it and was able to see the maximum amount we can get. It’s 2.31, and it belongs to the wild. The sum right in front of you says it all really – this game isn’t going to make you very rich unless you hit a winning streak of 2-way pays, and even then it’s going to be a stretch.

The scatter helps out a bit by triggering a series of 10 extra rounds on the house, but that doesn’t really offer up much else, and the worth of the tiles is only just over 1 credit, which again is highly disappointing for such an attractive game. The only reason we’re not cutting our losses and leaving already is because of the double up feature mentioned earlier on: the 2-way pay is exclusive to the brand, and it works its magic well.

When you get three or more of these icons, which happens to be a skull and crossbones, you will enter a selection of 10 waves where a win goes both ways. Normally you get a win from left to right and that’s that, but here you get left to right and right to left; it’s a small feature but it makes a big difference.

Betting

In regards to betting with this title, you can find everything you need at the bottom of the screen underneath the reels; there are 9 paylines to work with, though you can reduce them if you’d like. And if you should want to play without having to click the reels yourself, there’s an autoplay option available, you simply say how much you want to bet each line and how many rounds to play and the game does the rest.

Pay-ins start from 0.03 and climb up to 3 credits, which isn’t that much even when the max amount of lines is in play. What this tells us is that this is a low risk game that we don’t have to worry about being outsmarted by. Not that it means you won’t get burnt if you lose; every slot can sting you bad if you happen to be unlucky.

Final Thoughts

This title doesn’t work for us and it’s mainly because it’s just not rewarding enough, we want to feel like we could win the world, not a handful of euros. And then there’s the lack of substance, with hardly any tiles upon the grid in the first place. It’s hard to get excited when there’s nothing to get excited about.

This isn’t one of Booming Games’ best titles, we’re sad to say, but why not give it a shot and try for yourself? You may just like it.
