The gameplay and simple mechanic of Chicken+ revolves completely around the idea of a chicken crossing the road. I found it was never as boring as it sounds, as each lane you cross escalates the excitement and your potential winnings.
Frustrations and Animations
It’s always frustrating when your chicken crashes out, but I thought it was hilarious that it could be a truck that turns it into ashes or an alligator that rises from a storm drain to turn it into deep-fried chicken. These animations keep short sessions interesting, but do get stale if you play for too long.
Easy, Medium, Hard, and Daredevil Modes
My initial strategy for Chicken+ was to try to always get across the road, and I achieved the top win of 23x twice in Easy Mode in 20 games (a 4% chance). After 20 games on the medium, hard, and daredevil modes, I soon realized that trying to win these top prizes (0.0441%, 0.0019%, and 0.000031% chances) is a wing and a prayer (pun intended). I found that my chicken also crashed more quickly more often in these modes, which spoiled the fun compared to my initial sessions.
Strategize with Autoplay Options
It’s hard not to be tempted by top prizes offering bet multipliers of 2,208x, 51,400x, and 3,138,009x, but this high-risk option spoiled the gameplay for me in the top three modes. A plus point for me is that autoplay is an excellent tool that allowed me to strategize by selecting my preferred bet and number of lanes in any mode. You can also preset the game to stop when reaching predetermined losses or profits. After realizing this, I happily enjoyed a variety of small winning and losing sessions, rather than constantly going for broke.
