We’re getting all fancy and academic because the reels have our brains jumping about all over the place; relaxing this game is not. If you need to chill out after a long day, play something else as this can only tense you up and keep you on the edge of your seat.
To get this crazy train ready to leave the station, players have to assign a bet to the reels; it can be between €1 and €100. That’s one big range for customers to play about with and test. No matter what stake you make, the payouts won’t change – sorry folks, it just isn’t that type of slot. The Max Bet option is going to be a godsend when setting the amount, as clicking through all the endless numbers is a nightmare on the fingers and ears, if only there was a mute button for all that clicking.
There is also an Autoplay option to be played, but as we were playing the demo mode it never lit up for us. We’re not certain why this happened, whether it had anything to do with not betting with real money or whether it meant the option wasn’t available in this game; either way we were left manually spinning.
Another Wazdan feature that’s returned to Win & Replay is the Gamble Feature, an option that plays at the end of a winning combination; it isn’t automatic and so you can skip it if you want. When you launch it you’ll be asked to guess what the next card’s colour will be. It’s a setup that’s been done a thousand times over, but it’s still a good one to play.
Going back to the wild that we touched on in the introduction. It’s not needed to make a winning replay, but it is if you want to freeze those symbols in place. Any combination that has the wild will be covered in chains and left in the position it was found in. Then during the next spin all of the other symbols will move except for them. What is more, the wild will also sub other icons.
Aside from this tile, there are only seven other images to find, most of which are the same symbols but in a different colour; it’s extremely retro and makes no bones about it. If you’re turned off by anything remotely basic, this is going to give you nightmares and have you climbing the walls.
The triple 7s in red are the highest paying of all the symbols, and all the 7 tiles in general; it’ll give users a payout of 5 credits. Here is where Win & Replay loses us, its final wins are always so lacklustre, even more so when you get to the bottom of the barrel. The purple X is the lowest of all the icons, with only 0.10 to its name, which is a very disappointing turnout. True it can be doubled during the gamble, but that risk isn’t guaranteed to pay off.
Win & Replay is a slot machine that’s worth the effort, even though we’ve voiced our issues with the gameplay and its payments. This is because that, while it fails to reward us handsomely, it gives us something else in return: the gift of unique gameplay. That’s far more valuable than a sum of money, at least to us anyway.
