Irish Lottery Casino Review

Irish Lottery is a strange little site that is one part lottery site to one part online casino. Unfortunately neither of these parts has any redeeming features whatsoever and thus this is the sort of site which, upon glimpsing it, makes you want to run a mile. Decked out in orange and green, the colours of Ireland lest we forget, Irish Lottery speaks on its homepage about how it was created in 1986 as a means of raising money for good causes. Suffice to say that back then it will not have been released as a website but rather has since made the transition to the web.

In fact the site appears to have been created in 2014 which must have been the last time it was updated as well. The whole design and layout of the site harks back to an era before smartphones reigned supreme and when many websites were created with sidebars because they didn't take up the full page width using responsive design. Scroll down the homepage and you'll be greeted by a selection of EuroMillions numbers and Irish lottery numbers for the most recent draws that took place. There is also an Irish lottery news section which deals with recent winners.

About Irish Lottery

Irish Lottery is a cheap and horrible looking site that is operated by ProgressPlay Ltd. They’re a company who are based in Valletta in Malta and are known for operating horrific looking websites that are barely functional. Even by their standards, Irish Lottery is a particularly bad example. It's hard to imagine that anyone plays at this site but presumably there must be some sort of residual custom otherwise the site wouldn't have been retained for this long. The operators of this site hold a gaming licence issued by the Malta Gaming Authority as well as one issued by the UK Gambling Commission.

The remainder of the About page for Irish Lottery is taken up with discussing its commitment towards promoting responsible gaming and how it utilises 128-bit SSL to keep customer data secure. If you require customer support there is a very basic looking contact submission form provided on the site and there is also email and live chat. If you would like to play on mobile there is a mobile app available which you can download for iPhone or Android but like the site itself the app doesn't look particularly enticing.

Progressive Banking

In terms of deposit options, there's a fine amount of choice available at Irish Lottery, but that is because the site uses the same methods as are available at all ProgressPlay sites. It seems unlikely that customers from Germany or Sweden are going to be lining up in their droves to play at Irish Lottery, but technically speaking there is no reason why they can't. Deposit options comprise credit and debit card such as Visa, Mastercard and Maestro as well as Paybyphone which is available to UK customers only. This latter option allows players to deposit up to £30 a day. Remaining options include Skrill, Neteller, Sofort, Paysafecard and around half a dozen others.

Withdrawals at ProgressPlay sites are notoriously slow. As a result it is going to take you at least two weeks to get your money back by card which is simply unacceptable for a casino today. The withdrawal amount is €20 and it will take slightly less time than card if you're requesting funds by Neteller, in which case you should get your money within a week. It is still inexcusably slow however for credit card withdrawals and bank transfers will take longer still.

Same Old Promotions

One of the many annoying things about Irish Lottery is that to access the primary pages you have to click on a side menu in the right hand sidebar which is inconveniently tucked away out of reach. This also means as you scroll further down the page you lose the menu, making it hard to go back to previous pages.

However, if you can find your way to the promotions page you'll discover that there’s the same promotions that ProgressPlay have been offering at all of their sites since forever. This includes Monday Madness which is uninspiring as it sounds plus free spins on the game of the day every Wednesday.

The welcome offer comprises a 100% bonus worth up to €200 which is subject to a 50x wagering requirement. You've also got 25% cashback on roulette every weekend at the casino and live dealer cashback where there is up to 30% back. A few other promotions such as Game of the Day and Happy Hour round off the selection of drab promotions to be had at Irish Lottery.

Hunt the Games!

Despite being ostensibly an online casino, is actually hard to find the casino on this site because most of the top menu is taken up with dross rather than useful options you might actually want to click on. You have to hunt behind a submenu to find the link that will lead you to the casino at Irish lottery. When you get there, brace yourself a disappointment because this is as horrifically bad as the rest of the site. Games are sorted into categories such as casual games, jackpots and slots using a tabbed menu. The narrow design and cheap icons make this site look like it is at least 10 years older than its stated age.

There are a few decent games here including some branded slots but the whole presentation is just horrible. Irish Lottery has to go down as one of the worst casinos on the web and that's saying something because there are some real shockers out there. The slots are okay, but only due to the presence of NetEent. Elsewhere at Irish Lottery you will find some uninspiring progressive jackpot slots, some uninspiring casual games and some uninspiring casino games such as blackjack and roulette. Do you feel suitably uninspired yet?

Irish Lottery in Conclusion

Irish Lottery is a horrible, horrible site. It is astonishing that this site is allowed to still exist and it would be a miracle if it has any active players whatsoever. If you would like to check out this site out of some kind of morbid curiosity then by all means do so. However if you have a modicum of common sense, you will avoid this site altogether and indeed every other site that ProgressPlay have put their name to.

This Malta-based developer operator might just go down as one of the worst operators currently in business. It is astonishing that this company can continue to trade and to remain in business despite offering such poor customer service so little of interest. Irish Lottery is an awful site that deserves to be shut down with immediate effect.
