The social media influencer known only as Club Pro Guy or CPG has struck a brand ambassador deal with New York-based prediction market provider Kalshi.
real name a much-guessed but enduring secret
CPG is a golf cult favorite with 302,700 followers on X and 128,000 on Instagram. He has, however, somehow managed to keep his real name a much guessed but enduring secret. On Tuesday, wearing a Kalshi-branded shirt, CPG took to X with news of what he called his “lucrative partnership agreement”:
The fictional golf pro and avid gambler didn’t waste any time plugging Kalshi, the “only place” he goes to bet. The key reason? CPG said Kalshi allows him to wager on “really stupid things like the bet I placed last night on whether Mount Spurr in Alaska will erupt before July 1st.”
“I don’t know sh*t about volcanos but I’ve got a hunch about this.”
Last week, the CFTC requested courts to toss its appeal against Kalshi offering election betting markets, suggesting it’s just a matter of time before sports betting prediction markets also get the federal green light.
In the meantime, CPG is getting his sports betting pitch on.
“You’ve always trusted me with your golf game. Now, I’m asking you to trust me by wagering your hard-earned money on obscure future events.”
