Kick.com has fired its social media manager after they posted an incestuous image of social media personalities Franky and Alex Venegas, aka the Island Boys. Despite being known to court controversy, Kick acted quickly to distance itself from a potential backlash from its followers.

The Stake owned streaming platform took to X Friday to apologize for the post featuring the Floridabased twins:

The Island Boys included in the picture are an American hip-hop duo. The social media post featured them kissing within an image template Kick usually uses to announce new streamer signings to its platform.

Thats hardly grounds to fire someone”

Some of Kick’s followers felt the firing was a little too harsh, including Kick streamer Xchng3. “People are way too soft these days my god,” the streamer admonished. “Thats hardly grounds to fire someone.”

Kick’s haste in firing its employee mirrors its banning of content creator Heelmike for streaming himself performing a sex act with a girl on its platform last year. Users of the platform immediately criticized Kick for not taking similar action against content creator Suspenda, who streamed himself having sex.
