Branded & bespoke

Light & Wonder has rolled out a new Netflix-licensed Squid Game sequel with vibrant visual branding faithful to the hit TV show’s first ever episode.

stand out from the clutter

While many other iGaming studios roll out slots licensed to use Netflix’s intellectual property (IP), L&W has also added its own mechanic to make Squid Game: Red Light, Green Light stand out from the clutter.

The result is a 5×3 slot true to the thrilling yet deadly jeopardy of the hit Korean show’s iconic first episode as players enter a high-tension pursuit of a 10,000x max win.

Red-hot features

Squid Game: Red Light, Green Light transports players to the creepy playground viewers of the Netflix series will instantly recognize.

True to the Netflix show’s IP, symbols on the grid include Dalgona candy, the cash-holding piggy bank, and player 329, who entered the deadly game to settle a debt. Watched over by the creepy motion-sensing doll and masked, red tracksuited guards, Light & Wonder sets a scene full of brooding menace before unleashing its standout mechanics.

gives the slot its own unique identity

Complete with ten ways to win, the central feature is the piggy bank symbol, which forms wins when it lands and works as scatters across any reel. L&W’s bespoke Red Light mechanic, however, is where the design team gives the slot its own unique identity. The Red Light Bonus comes into play randomly when players land six or more piggy banks.

Within this bonus game, landing six or more blue piggy banks triggers re-spin-like mini reels with locking symbols. The same criteria for purple piggy banks activate random Jackpot Mini Bonus payouts from 10x to 2,500x, greens trigger Mystery Win Mini Bonus values between 3x and 20x, and the golds cash values from 1x to 50x the stake.

Players can access the Dalgona Candy Bonus by selecting the Premium Play button, which costs the same as their base bet. Any wins in the Premium Play mode coming from stakes 2.5x or higher will trigger the Dalgona Candy Bonus. Players then select one of the 12 Dalgona Candies to reveal Free Spins or cash multipliers that range between 1x and 5x bet.

Hardworking sequel

Compared to the first in L&W’s series, Squid Game: One More Game, in which the max bet was $60.88, high rollers will wish for a higher than $10 max bet ceiling in the medium volatility sequel that comes with an average RTP of 95.97%.

Likewise, casual players liking the $0.10 entry point in Red Light, Green Light over One More Game’s $0.22 might find the sequel’s multiple mechanics a little daunting.

Ultimately, however, Squid Game: Red Light, Green Light packs a bigger feature-rich punch than its predecessor, with engaging, immersive gameplay that mirrors the Netflix show’s high-stakes drama and stands out from other slots simply piggybacking on the show’s widespread appeal.
