A field goal during the dying seconds of the Houston Texans game versus the Cincinnati Bengals has secured one lucky bettor a multimillion-dollar payday. At $5.5m, it represents one of the largest payouts on a parlay bet ever recorded by a US sportsbook.

The unnamed gambler staked $500,000 on their four-leg parlay with Hard Rock Bet in Florida. The sportsbook took to X to share the details of the wager:

The bet featured four separate legs on the Texans game, including Houston to win, the game to go over 44.5 points, and Texans running back Devin Singletary to get 51.5 rushing yards and score a touchdown.

With three of the four legs already coming in, the bettor just needed Houston to win the actual game to secure his huge payday. Up stepped Texans kicker Matt Ammendola to save the day, hitting a 38-yard field goal on the final play to secure the 30-27 win for his team.

Hard Rock Bet just launched in Florida after its owner the Seminole Tribe of Florida won a long-running legal battle. Since the launch, million-dollar bets have reportedly not been uncommon in the state, as reported by ESPN.
