A weapon skin and a knife in the popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) video game have sold for a combined $500,000. The AK-47 Case Hardened ‘Blue Gem’ skin is now the most expensive weapon skin in the game at around $400,000, it has been up for sale since November 2022.

The knife is a Karambit Case Hardened ‘Blue Gem’ and accounts for about $100,000 of the purchase price. This is the same knife that someone offered to buy for a record-breaking $1.5m in 2021. The difference is that the knife in this case is in well-worn condition, rather than factory-new condition.
A catalyst for the increasing interest levels in the CS:GO skins market is the upcoming release of Counter-Strike 2. Gamers are willing to spend more and more for the most desirable and rarer items. Last month, another AK-47 skin sold for $160,000. This was deemed to be the priciest public sale of a weapon skin at the time.
