Poker offering went live on March 22

New Jersey-based iGaming and sports betting powerhouse BetMGM has launched its online partypoker-powered BetMGM Poker games portfolio in Michigan. It marks the second online poker operation to go live in the state.

Anthony Mallamaci, gaming communications manager at BetMGM, yesterday shared the news via Twitter:

According to a BetMGM news release, the March 22 rollout gives players “access to benefits tied to MGM Grand Detroit and MGM Resorts’ casino-resorts nationwide.”

casino and sports wagering products “have been met with incredible early success”

The CEO of BetMGM, Adam Greenblatt, said the operator’s casino and sports wagering products “have been met with incredible early success” in the Wolverine State, and that the launch of online poker completes the brand’s gaming portfolio in Michigan.

BetMGM Poker eyes demand in Michigan

The BetMGM Poker operation in Michigan heralds the iGaming brand’s poker presence in its second US state after it launched the offering in its native New Jersey in November 2020. The rollout follows that of operator PokerStars, which marked the state’s legal online poker debut at the end of January.

BetMGM director of poker Ray Stefanelli said in the news release that “demand for online poker in Michigan was made clear by players across the state.” He expressed confidence in the BetMGM Poker’s ability to provide Michiganders with an “engaging, reliable and fun poker experience.”

The BetMGM iGaming and sports wagering brand entered the market in 2018 as the result of a partnership between MGM Resorts International and Entain Plc (formerly GVC Holdings). Through Entain’s US-licensed technology, BetMGM offers online gambling and betting products via popular platforms such as partypoker, Borgata Casino, and Party Casino. In turn, partypoker US powers BetMGM Poker and Borgata Poker, forming an extensive poker network along with partypoker US brands.

Players in Michigan can now download the BetMGM Poker mobile app and join online poker rooms with other gamblers across the state.

Launch offers Michiganders online poker variety

BetMGM Poker offers players a regularly rotating carousel of poker variants and tournaments, including “cash-games of all buy-in levels” and the partypoker US network’s Progressive Knockout Bounty online series.

They can “redeem their gameplay for world-class experiences” at MGM Resorts properties including MGM Grand Detroit; Bellagio, MGM Grand, and ARIA in Las Vegas; Beau Rivage in Mississippi; Borgata in New Jersey, and MGM National Harbor in Maryland.
