One column of symbols, that’s it
We have all seen three-reel slots. We have all seen five-reel slots. But what about a one-reel slot? Ok, I suppose Banknote Blitz by Gaming Corps is really a 1×5, a five-reel slot turned vertically so the five reels form a single column, but regardless of how you want to view it, the game is certainly unique in its format and simplicity.
Banknote Blitz puts you inside a bank vault lined with safe deposit boxes. The graphics are vivid and cartoony, though I would have liked to see a little more care put into the background, as the edges of some safe deposit boxes overlap decorative columns in what seems like a hasty copy-and-paste job. But no matter, players aren’t looking at the background.

There is not much to the game at all; no symbol matching, no worrying about how the paylines bend through the reels. There are just five reels stacked in single column. Upon spinning, the “win frame” moves (or doesn’t, as the case may be) to one of the five reels. If a banknote – decorated with pig versions of classic American buildings and historical leaders as one would see on US currency – lands completely in the frame, you win the amount on the bill, denoted in terms of a multiple of your bet. If a banknote is only partially visible, you do not win.
If one or more multipliers appear on any reel, your winnings are boosted. If an “expand” banknote lands fully in the win frame, the reels re-spin and the win frame triples in size to surround three reels, giving you a better chance to hit a full banknote.
Simplicity down to the bonus round
And that’s about it. There is as bonus round triggered by the appropriately named “Bonus Banknote,” but even the bonus round is extremely basic. The win frame covers three reels and you get five free spins. Done. I did have one turn when I hit an expand banknote, which grew the win frame to all five reels, which meant the next spin was an auto-win if any of the reels contained a full banknote.
The RTP is slightly low at 95.8% and Banknote Blitz is classified as a “medium-high” volatility online slot. The stakes skew low, with a minimum bet of 0.02 (Euros, in the case of the free demo at VSO) and a max of 50.
combination of bright, eye-catching visuals and extreme simplicity
Banknote Blitz presents an interesting combination of bright, eye-catching visuals and extreme simplicity. In fact, it is so easy to follow what is happening that you will be able to calculate your winnings faster than the game can tell you.
