Bally’s Corporation has unveiled its plans to develop a casino on the former site of the Tropicana. The company submitted documents to Clark County regarding the property, which will encompass about 26 acres of the 35-acre plot of land. Construction of a $2bn MLB ballpark is underway on the same site, as the Athletics franchise will move to Sin City after temporarily relocating to Sacramento from Oakland.
four-phase plan, which would kick off in April 2026
Bally’s revealed its four-phase plan, which will kick off in April 2026 once it gets the necessary permit approvals in January. It hopes to finish this initial phase in time for the ballpark’s anticipated opening for the 2028 baseball season.
The casino and the 1,800-room hotel will be part of phase two. The third part of the project will be the construction of a 3,000-seat theater, and the fourth, a second hotel tower, which would add another 1,200 rooms.
When all is said and done, Bally’s intends to have a 100,000-square-foot gaming floor.
