Popular streamer Adin Ross has bet $2m that Jake Paul will beat Gervonta Davis when the exhibition boxing match takes place on November 14 in Miami. Ross and Paul are good friends, with the pair arriving together to a press conference on Tuesday in a $3.5m Bugatti and with a police escort.
Ross got on the microphone during the event and spoke about the $200,000 bet he already made with Davis. When Ross suggested increasing it to $250,000, Davis upped the stake to $500,000.
remarked how Jake Paul is making $50m from Netflix for the fight
The content creator got uncomfortable and remarked how Jake Paul is making $50m from Netflix for the fight and asked him to go 50/50 on the wager. Paul suggested upping the action to $1m, with Davis quickly jumping in to say $2m. The fighters came together and shook hands to lock in the wager:
The fight, which Netflix will be livestreaming, won’t count on the professional records of either fighter, with three ringside judges set to make a final decision on the result if the spectacle goes the distance.
It was originally set to take place in Atlanta before the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission rejected permission due to the big weight difference between the fighters. Gervonta Davis usually fights at about 135lbs and is five foot five inches tall, versus 190-210 lbs for Paul, who’s six foot one. Despite the mismatch, Jake Paul is the current +175 underdog with sportsbooks.
