behind Jacksonville, Florida with a 3.54 rate and Albuquerque, New Mexico with 4.68
Footwear company KURU published an analysis of the worst offenders, with Sin City’s pedestrian death rate amounting to 3.41 for every 100,000 people. It’s only behind Jacksonville, Florida with a 3.54 rate and Albuquerque, New Mexico with 4.68 in these rankings.
Almost 40 pedestrians have died so far this year in Las Vegas, a light increase compared to 2024’s figures. Law enforcement put more than half of these fatalities down to the error of pedestrians.
Commenting on potential reasons for the dangers of Las Vegas, Road Equity Alliance Product Director Erin Breen said that it was built before World War II. This was a time when cars weren’t as prevalent and downtown areas weren’t designed with vehicles in mind.
At the other end of the scale, the safest pedestrian cities are New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Nashville.
