When The Star Entertainment makes our headlines, it’s usually not for positive reasons. This time it’s no different, although this is seemingly no fault of the casino operator itself. Police have found a body floating in water near the Star Casino in Sydney.

Authorities discovered the body at about 7.30am on Friday morning in waters just off Pirrama Wharf at Pyrmont. All police know so far is that it appears to be a man in his 50s, although he is yet to be identified.

Police inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances behind the man’s death. They have launched an investigation to get to the bottom of the mystery.

Star Sydney was in the headlines last week too, that time for an ATM malfunction that led to its patrons getting their hands on AU$3.2m (US$2m) in free cash. People took advantage of the malfunction for 13 days before the property resolved the issue.
