Law enforcement have arrested nine people as part of a significant gambling ring bust in Pomona, California. Pomona Police Department released details about the raids at six locations across the city on Wednesday morning. The raids all took place simultaneously.

In addition to the arrests, they seized 55 illegal gambling machines, drugs, and an undisclosed sum of cash. The City of Pomona Public Works Department destroyed and disposed of the gambling machines. Photos shared by KCAL News show some large gambling machines, as well as stacks of cash:

The authorities did not release the identities of those involved but did confirm that it was a multi-agency operation.

Illegal gambling has proven a consistent issue in California as residents seek an alternative to tribal casinos. Last August, police detained 40 people after an early morning raid on an illegal casino. They found eight casino game tables and seized numerous guns and large amounts of cash.
