Utilizing Playtech software
The new betPARX casino and sportsbook app has launched in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Parx Casino’s parent company, Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment Incorporated, announced the launch of the new app, developed by Playtech, on Wednesday.
Playtech has deployed its IMS platform to power the backend of the betPARX app. The IMS platform is not currently a part of any other gambling platform in either New Jersey or Pennsylvania. Playtech has already worked with betPARX and the Gun Lake Casino in Michigan to launch the Play Gun Lake online casino.

The goal of the betPARX brand is to offer a “simpler, faster, and easier casino and sportsbook right in your pocket.” Everything from slots games to table games to live dealer titles are part of the online casino. Sports bettors have access to an array of sports for both pre-event and in-play betting.
Expanding its reach
betPARX senior vice president of iGaming and Sports Matthew Cullen welcomed the launch of the app in collaboration with Playtech, saying: “….we’ve created a product that ensures a great experience to any user, casino or sports.” He believes that the registration and payment processes are as simple and seamless as any other app in the sector.
Parx Casino is the largest land-based casino in Pennsylvania and has a retail sportsbook. betPARX is the casino’s online gambling brand and it now has platforms live in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. It initially entered a partnership with Playtech in February 2021 to develop the app.
Getting into the golf sector
It has been a busy few days for the betPARX brand. In addition to launching its app in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, it secured online sports betting market access in Ohio. betPARX secured access by becoming the mobile sports betting partner of the Memorial Tournament, which takes place every spring at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
PGA Tour event organizers will be working with betPARX to offer different types of fan experiences. betPARX is also now an official betting operator of the PGA Tour. The brand sees golf as a critical part of its business going forward.
Ohio only recently legalized sports betting, with the state authorities set to issue licenses and launch the sector by the start of January 2023. betPARX and the Memorial Tournament plan to apply for a Type A license that will allow the operator to launch an online sportsbook in Ohio.
