DraftKings and the Colorado Rockies recently signed a new partnership deal, making the digital sports entertainment and gambling company the official Daily Fantasy Operator and first Sports Betting Operator for the MLB franchise.

This deal expands the presence of DraftKings in Colorado, as the company recently announced its branded sportsbook at the Mardi Gras Casino in Black Hawk will open this week.

As the official DFS and sports betting provider for the Rockies, DraftKings will have access to in-stadium branding, as well as the Rockies’ logos and trademarks. The partners will team up to create a digital content series that will feature players from the Rockies on “The Sweat,” an original program created by DraftKings. Podcasts and other content are also in the pipeline.

The team has plans to work with the gaming operator to create hospitality offerings for fans, including game suites, batting practices, ticket giveaways, and more. Plans are to begin offering such options starting in the 2021 season.

Rockies vice president of corporate partnerships Walker Monfort commented on the new partnership, stating the team is thrilled to take the next step with DraftKings: “Expanding on our current deal for daily fantasy sports will only enhance what we’ve built with DraftKings up to this point.”

New retail sportsbook

DraftKings also announced its newly constructed retail sportsbook will be live in Mardi Gras Casino on September 25. Back in July, the company launched a temporary retail option at the casino as it began the process of creating the new, permanent facility.

The sportsbook will offer over 40 televisions as well as large video boards used to display game odds. Players can use self-service kiosks to place bets and enjoy drinks and dining in an on-site sports bar and restaurant.

The DraftKings Sportsbook launches just four months after the brand released its sportsbook app.
