Betting begins July 10

DraftKings announced the opening of a new temporary retail sportsbook at the Mardi Gras Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado this week. The sports betting operator worked with Twin River Worldwide Holdings to launch the venue, with betting beginning on July 10. Located on the first floor of the casino, the sportsbook will offer quality betting options while a permanent structure is being constructed.

Right now, the book has just one cashier window and eight self-service betting kiosks. The space includes several flat-screen televisions for viewing games.

permanent sportsbook will feature a much larger area

Once completed, the permanent sportsbook will feature a much larger area than the temporary space. The permanent location will house a large feature bar along with a massive wall of televisions. The space will also offer a VIP Lounge. Sports fans will be able to wager on all major United States sports, including NFL and NCAA football, baseball, basketball, auto racing, and more.

Mardi Gras Casino is the seventh retail location for DraftKings in the US, joining locations in New York, Mississippi, and New Jersey, among others.

Ezra Kucharz, the chief business officer for DraftKings, commented on the new launch. He stated the brand is thrilled to come together with the Mardi Gras Casino to provide exciting, real time gaming opportunities as sports return. “DraftKings and Mardi Gras Casino are committed to providing a safe, immersive and entertaining gaming environment to ensure sports fans in Colorado have the most enjoyable experience possible,” he said.

COVID-19 protections and online options

As the sportsbook begins offering services, Mardi Gras Casino has several COVID-19 precautions in place. All guests and employees must wear a face covering while on-site. The property uses hand-held thermometers for temperature checks.
