A Rhode Island man’s estate is suing Caesars Entertainment for wrongful death after staff at its flagship Las Vegas Strip hotel-casino called him an Uber instead of an ambulance, which allegedly led to his death.
The estate of Gary Perrin is suing the entertainment giant over a November 2024 stay at Caesars Palace when Perrin suddenly fell ill with symptoms including dizziness and vomiting.
Caesars Palace staff assumed the Perrin was intoxicated and called him a rideshare, rather than “onsite paramedics or EMR transport,” stated the lawsuit.
caused a critical delay of medical care”
According to the plaintiffs, Caesars’ actions “caused a critical delay of medical care that ultimately led to, caused, or contributed substantially” to Perrin’s eventual death in December 2024, the causes of which weren’t mentioned in the suit.
Perrin’s estate is suing Caesars on a double count of “negligence and negligent hiring, training, retention and supervision,” and is asking for a sum in excess of $15,000.
