Paddy Power has a strong track record of thinking outside the box with its ads. Its latest marketing campaign features the divisive media personality Piers Morgan and promotes men getting a simple PSA blood test to check for early signs of prostate cancer:

The video shows Morgan walking through the streets of London, acting like he’s got a massive sense of self with all his various interactions with people. Remarking about the minimal pain from the blood test, the medical professional said that “not all pricks are unbearable.”

The social media reaction was mixed as people praised Piers Morgan for helping promote a great cause. Others questioned why the online gambling company gave him the chance to promote his new book and be featured in the ad.

10,000 men in the UK die from prostate cancer every year due to a late diagnosis

Talking about the campaign, Morgan said that he hopes that people will “book themselves an appointment with their GP for a painless, 30-second blood test before it’s too late.” About 10,000 men in the UK die from prostate cancer every year due to a late diagnosis.

The ad is part of Paddy Power’s wider “The Even Bigger 180 Campaign” that sees the operator challenging 180,000 men in the UK to check their risk of prostate cancer while the Paddy Power World Darts Championship takes place. It has also committed to donating £1,000 ($1,350) every time there’s a 180 at this year’s event.
