One of the regions where live casino game supplier Evolution AB has recently focused its efforts is Asia. The Sweden-based company announced in June that it was partnering with the Philippines-based One Visaya Gaming Corporation to launch its first studio in the continent.
The partnership was rocked this week, as the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) stripped One Visaya’s gaming system administrator license for its online casino over know-your-customer (KYC) violations. It now has until Wednesday to close down the Bigwin29 platform.
won’t be any issue with the studio
One Visaya still holds its land-based license, which is what Evolution needs for streaming its games. In a statement to Bloomberg, Evolution AB Spokesperson Adrian Westman remarked that the B2B and B2C licenses are completely independent, so there won’t be any issue with the studio.
Evolution has been under scrutiny recently over its operations in regions where online gambling isn’t licensed. Its share price plummeted 11% in August when revelations came to light via secret recordings of executives discussing how people access their games from restricted regions.
