Fanatics is launching a standalone casino app and browser-based site on Friday in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Virginia. Until now, the operator has offered casino games on the same platform as its sportsbook.

Talking about the type of customer that the operator will be targeting with the new online casino, Fanatics Betting and Gaming President Conor Grant said that the company will be more focused on females in their late 30s or 40s, compared to the profile of a sports bettor who tends to be a male in his mid-to-late 30s.

Efforts to date to promote casino games were mainly about cross-selling bettors, who tend to prefer playing table games rather than slots.

plans to use its existing database to push the new app

The company plans to use its existing database to push the new app, as well as roll out some television, audio, and online ads. One of its big focuses going forward will be its loyalty program in which users earn FanCash when they place real money bets, which can be exchanged for bonus bets or merchandise on the main Fanatics website.

While many rival operators offer casino games and sports betting through the same apps, Fanatics prefers to separate the two products. The idea behind this approach is to be a “preferred destination for slot players and the US casino players.”
