46 lucky poker players walked away with a share of a record-breaking CA$2.5m (US$1.8m) Bad Beat Jackpot at the Casino du Lac-Leamy in Quebec, Canada.

A losing hand triggers the jackpot when it contains four 10s or an even stronger combination. This happened last week and resulted in the player with the four 10s getting a CA$1m (US$722,457) cut of the total prize, with the hand winner, who had a straight flush, receiving CA$502,711 (US$363,187).

remaining six players in the game took home almost CA$84,000 (US$60,686) apiece

The remaining six players in the game took home almost CA$84,000 (US$60,686) apiece, with the 38 other players in the room each taking home CA$13,000 (US$9,392).

In the press release announcing the win, Loto-Quebec called the atmosphere “electric” at the time, as the Montreal Canadiens were vying to clinch a Stanley Cup play-off spot and people in the room were watching the televisions closely.

This was a record-high bad beat jackpot win at a Loto-Quebec casino.
