Major global gambling industry trade bodies are joining forces, signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as they pledge to work together to combat illegal gambling, boost responsible gambling protocols, and more.

The American Gaming Association (AGA), the UK Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), and the European Casino Association (ECA) issued a statement regarding the new project that will see them collaborate on research and share their expertise.

The group identified certain areas of improvement for consumers and gambling operators that cover numerous jurisdictions. The initial plan is to hold a roundtable discussion in January to address illegal gambling, with participation from gambling regulators, operators, and law enforcement.

They will discuss ways to improve communication across different jurisdictions and explore strategies to tackle unregulated operators.
