Visitors to MGM Resorts International properties in Las Vegas are speculating that a new cyberattack caused front desk computer system outages. Videos on social media showed lengthy lines in the lobbies of resorts like the New York-New York, Excalibur, and Luxor on Tuesday:

An MGM Resorts spokesperson said that the booking system at the front desk of its hotels went down for a time and that everything is now back to normal. The company didn’t provide a reason for the outage.

Some people reported waiting up to four hours to check into their rooms, reminiscent of the scenes last September when a ransomware attack caused mass disruption. Staff handed out vouchers and bottles of water to people waiting in line to try to ease their frustrations.
