A poker player at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh is $1.4m richer after hitting a record-breaking jackpot. He was playing Pai Gow Poker Progressive in the early hours of Sunday morning when he got a seven-card straight flush.

previous biggest win at the property was a $1.2m bad beat jackpot

Because the player placed an optional side bet, he triggered the $1.4m progressive prize, a new record for the casino. The previous biggest win at the property was a $1.2m bad beat jackpot in August 2022.

Talking about the exciting surprise for the unnamed Pittsburgh resident, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh Assistant General Manager Andre Barnabei said: “It’s such a fun and momentous experience watching a jackpot grow until it finally hits.”

This particular jackpot began in April 2017 and it is the first time a player has successfully won the entire pot. The old record payout for it was $92,000 in 2020 after a player hit five aces. The latest big score comes just a few months after a gambler triggered a bad beat jackpot to win $350,000 when they lost a hand with quad aces against a royal flush.
