Police Seize $85,000 and Arrest Three People in Texas Gambling Den Raid

Police have dismantled a gambling den operating in Corpus Christi, Texas. Detectives culminated their months-long investigation on Thursday afternoon by carrying out raids at a residence and the Players Lounge Game Room. They seized gambling equipment, a vehicle, a small amount of marijuana, and more than $85,000 in cash.

The Corpus Christi Police Department detectives also arrested three individuals, charging them with the promotion of gambling, keeping a gambling place, possessing a gambling device, money laundering, and taking part in organized criminal activity.

The last two of these charges are felonies, which can lead to a fine of up to $10,000 and up to two years of prison time. Five adults who were in the illegal gambling den at the time of the search received a Class C misdemeanor.

This was the latest raid as part of a more extensive crackdown in Corpus Christi. Police raided two Prime Time game rooms in April which led to the arrest of 13 employees and citations for more than 80 individuals. The authorities confiscated gambling devices and $370,000 in cash.
