Police Officer Caught on Video Taking Cash Out of Wallet at Massachusetts Casino

A Boston police officer was caught red-handed at the Encore Boston Harbor casino. She took money out of a wallet she found at the Massachusetts casino before handing it to property staff, and all of it was caught on tape.

Rebecca Leo is currently serving a 90-day calendar suspension with no pay following the incident in August last year at the Encore Boston Harbor casino. She was off-duty at the time, having been part of the Boston Police Department’s Bureau of Administration and Technology.

Leo entered a “last chance settlement agreement” regarding the matter, of which the 90-day suspension is part. The officer’s suspension for conduct unbecoming under the police department’s rules will end on October 1 and she will then have to adhere to a three-year probation period.

A Massachusetts State Police spokesperson confirmed with local media that video footage of the incident exists and that the State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit decided to not carry out its own investigation. The security team at the casino now has a trespass order in place, meaning Leo cannot visit the facility.
