Jinx gets wings
A venture capital arm of Stockholm-listed casino game provider Hacksaw Gaming has sanctioned its first investment after taking a minority stake in UK-based software developer Jinx Gaming.
Hacksaw Venture’ is the Swedish firm’s new iGaming “investment and acceleration” subsidiary, set up mid-March to empower start-up gaming innovators including “game studios, technology platforms, data tooling, and next-gen entertainment concepts” via capital and hands-on support.
Jinx took to X in a celebratory mood, stating that with Hacksaw’s backing, the firm will “turn our games up to 11!”:
The deal with Jinx will see the pair collaborate on developing and releasing new games through Hacksaw’s OpenRGS iGaming development platform.
Standout slot
Jinx debuted on the Hacksaw iGaming content distribution platform in December with the release of its first game, Dead Headz.
The game has earned critical acclaim from the iGaming trade, as offering “atmosphere and adrenaline” that will appeal to players with a preference for “action-packed, feature-rich games.” Dead Headz comes with 5 reels, 5 rows, 19 paylines, and a maximum win potential of up to 10,000x.

Founder of Jinx, Reu Wilde, summed up the mood at his firm after the venture capital deal, stating: “now we have the might of Hacksaw behind us.”
Wilde added that Jinx had already made a splash among players with its first-person shooter and platformer experiences, and that the Hacksaw Ventures partnership “will continue to rewrite the expectations of what a slot game is.”
Hacksaw Ventures Vice President Fran Mifsud said that Jinx’s performance on its OpenRGS platform “demonstrated a clear vision and strong creative direction.”
Mifsud added that Hacksaw was “thrilled” to add Jinx to its VC arm and that its investment will provide the Wolverhampton-based firm “with further resources to develop innovative and exciting games.”
Jinx’s reach widens
Hacksaw’s CEO Marcus Cordes said in March of the investment business: “When we back you, we plug you directly into an ecosystem built for scale.” His firm’s B2B channels boast a major distribution network among top-tier operators in regulated gambling markets.
In addition to its VC arm and B2B technology platform, Hacksaw is also a developer of online scratch cards, instant win games, and digital slots such as Buffalo Stack’n’Sync and Wanted Dead or a Wild.
