Revelations continue

Files recently released by the US Justice Department have revealed that Caesars Entertainment hosted 60th birthday celebrations for Jeffrey Epstein despite his 2008 sex offense convictions.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Friday, Epstein’s belated 60th bash involved ex-Apollo Global Management CEO and former Caesars owner Leon Black, who is believed to have bankrolled the 2013 party.

“meal plans, and show access” for everyone at the disgraced financier’s party

Staff at Caesars booked Epstein and his alleged girlfriend Karyna Shuliak a suite at Caesars Palace along with multiple other rooms for his birthday guests, “meal plans, and show access” for everyone at the disgraced financier’s party.

The birthday entourage also enjoyed VIP seats, tickets to a Rod Stewart concert, and top-tier loyalty bonuses given to high-rollers.

More skeletons emerge

According to reports, Epstein’s management also asked Caesars staff for passes to the annual DEF CON event, as the party wanted to skip the queues and Epstein wanted “to meet tech people at the event.”

While Epstein’s 2013 trip lasted just over a day as he flew in and out of Vegas on his private jet, it has come back to haunt Black, who stepped down as CEO and Chair of Apollo in 2021 over his alleged ties to Epstein.

Though a spokesperson for Black stated the former exec, who still has a significant stake in Apollo, had “no recollection of ever covering the costs” of the birthday surprise, internal emails mentioned charges on Black’s account and called the 2013 trip “an Epstein birthday present.”

Epstein served an initial 13 months in county jail after his 2008 conviction for “procuring a person under 18 for prostitution and soliciting a prostitute,” but further investigations led to his 2019 arrest on a federal sex trafficking charge.

Epstein, who was doubly accused of abusing minors and facilitating the abuse of them by his associates, killed himself in prison. His horrific legacy, however, throws a widening shadow over Vegas as reporters and investigators have millions of files still to examine.

Shadow over Vegas

Last week, calls emerged for MGM International and the state gaming regulator to axe MGM’s David Copperfield Show after the recently released files revealed the magician had a “very close relationship” with Epstein.

The recently aired evidence additionally points to more people tied to Epstein who used the billionaire predator’s contacts “to gain access to Las Vegas events, even in his absence.”

Epstein’s cronies got tickets to Celine Dion, Penn and Teller, and Cirque shows in Sin City. According to the Review-Journal, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, stated it hasn’t found any crime reports linked to Epstein’s visits to Vegas.
