Seminole Indian Police arrested Addison early Tuesday and charged him with the first-degree misdemeanor of “trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance.”

Released on a $500 bond, the case potentially places the Vikings 2023 NFL Draft first round pick’s upcoming $17.5m contract hike in jeopardy. The Vikings have until May 1 to trigger Addison’s fifth-year option on his rookie deal, which is worth $17.5m guaranteed, according to OverTheCap.

According to reports, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell told the media his franchise knew of Addison’s arrest.

He refused to speculate, but O’Connell’s responded that “we have to get as many facts and find out exactly what happened.” While voicing support for his WR who has also had a career-low season, the coach was, according to reports, “non-committal” about Addison’s future in Minnesota.

Vikings General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah praised Addison’s attributes but said he was human like everybody else. However, he also said the incident was “obviously […] something we have to consider when you’re talking about long-term ramifications of a contract extension.”
