Squid Game Director Producing Netflix’s New Casino Crime Series

Streaming giant Netflix has announced a new Korean series is in the works, produced by the director of Squid Game with a plot revolving around a casino dealer.

According to reports, The Dealer will be centered on a casino croupier who, after being scammed “enters her casino’s Texas Hold’Em tournament.” Actress Jung So Min, who has been offered the lead role, will gain a secret power, able to detect lies when she drinks alcohol. 

making a living as “a casino shill”

Actor Ryu Seung Bum (Good News, The Berlin File) is reportedly also cast as an ex-salaryman who led an ordinary life but got divorced, lost his fortune, and was making a living as “a casino shill” until his high-stakes troubles with the dealer.  

The show to premiere exclusively on Netflix is backed by Korean film industry veterans, including the production company behind the global hit Squid Game and its director Hwang Dong-hyuk.
