GGPoker is looking to cement its position as the go-to online poker site by announcing the launch of a new rewards system. The current Fish Buffet program, which underwent its last major update six years ago, will transition on January 30.
Ocean Rewards is taking over, and people in the poker community see this as a positive development, as the cashback levels will generally be higher across most tiers. Everyone already enrolled in Fish Buffet will receive a complimentary tier increase when the transition takes place.
minimum cashback is also jumping from 15% to around 24%
The maximum possible cashback will rise from 60% to 80%, making it stand out from most of its competitors. For example, PokerStars caps rakeback at 60%. The minimum cashback is also jumping from 15% to around 24%. Players were happy to see that a 12-month tier run rate will be in place.
Ocean Rewards follows the same sea theme as Fish Buffet, as the eight tiers are named after aquatic creatures. People move up the levels as they hit specific rakeback targets, with each $1 in rake equaling 100 Tide Points.
A GEMs system will also be in place, allowing players to exchange their points for a wide variety of rewards.
