Death by OD
The Clark County Office of the Coroner (CCOC) has revealed that a drug overdose killed influencer Anunay Sood at a Las Vegas casino-resort in November.
Sood, 32, died from a fentanyl and alcohol overdose
The CCOC released its findings on Monday that Sood, 32, died from a fentanyl and alcohol overdose and listed his death as accidental.
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD) discovered the Indian travel influencer dead in a room at the Wynn Las Vegas on November 4. According to reports at that time, the LVMPD also located “narcotics” in the room along with Sood’s body.
A spokesperson for the CCOC stated that additional testing revealed Sood’s death was caused by the combined effects of ethanol and fentanyl toxicity.
Cars and fake cocaine
Sood, whose Instagram account had over 1.5 million subscribers as of November, was staying at the Wynn for the Las Vegas Concours 2025 car show.
The influencer’s death came as a result of what a woman told the LVMPD was what she had believed to be cocaine. This unnamed woman said she, Sood, and another female “proceeded to use the cocaine” they had bought from a man on the Wynn casino floor at around 4am.
Instead of perking the three up, the drug made them all fall asleep. According to 8NewsNow, about an hour later, the women “woke up to find Sood unresponsive.”
evidence that the group snorted the powder.”
Reports state the LVMPD discovered a baggie in the deceased’s Wynn room containing “an unknown white substance” including “other evidence that the group snorted the powder.”
Waiting on toxicology
Sood’s family and friends announced his death on an Instagram post from the deceased influencer’s account, asking in part for privacy.
According to reports, however, toxicology from a substance-abuse death can take months to process, resulting in the long delay of the facts behind Sood’s death in November.
