A high-profile UK charity has introduced multiple resources to help neurodivergent individuals experiencing gambling harms.
GambleAware recently released “training materials, communication guidance and case studies” for a segment of neurodivergent gamblers, particularly those with ADHD and autism.

The charity’s resource suite, called “Neurodivergence and Gambling Resources,” comes after research published in 2024 suggested some neurodivergent groups face heightened risks of gambling harm.
The GambleAware resources are intended to give therapists and clinicians the tools to adjust their support for victims based on six key principles, according to SiGMA.
These include recommendations for practitioners to express themselves with simplicity and absolute clarity, take into account sensory needs, and provide support that “promotes the autonomy and independence” of neurodivergent people in need.
Research published last year involving IFF Research, academics from the University of Bristol, and University College London suggested neurodivergent groups are up to twice as likely as their peers to suffer negative consequences of gambling addiction.
