A poker room’s security guard is in trouble after he was caught pocketing a patron’s $100,000 ring. The victim visited the Parkwest Casino in Livermore, California to show his ring enthusiast friend his recent purchase. At some point during the visit, he accidentally dropped the ring without realizing it. A dealer found it and gave it to a security guard.

The victim reported the matter, and when the casino surveillance team looked at the video footage, they could see the security guard putting the ring into his pocket. After law enforcement confronted the 49-year-old, he admitted his crime and directed officers to the ring.
The Parkwest Casino has some history with unscrupulous staff members. A dealer was part of a baccarat cheating scheme that took $4m from the establishment; the perpetrators were convicted in 2020.
A couple of years later, a blackjack dealer was caught embezzling large-denomination poker chips at the property. She said she was doing so to help a customer who was struggling with their financial situation.
