The Amazon-owned autonomous vehicle brand Zoox has inked a high profile deal with Resorts World Las Vegas despite being under fire for a recent San Francisco crash.
Zoox on Thursday issued another software recall following a scooter accident in San Francisco, just days after Resorts World announced the brand would be its first official robotaxi partner.
Zoox took to X with a video of its Resorts World deal, the first official robotaxi firm and Vegas resort tie-up:
According to a news release, Resorts World will grant Zoox a “dedicated and branded pickup and drop-off location” for the robotaxi fleet at the property.
Resorts World Las Vegas President and CFO Carlos Castro stated the Zoox tie-up reflects his firm’s commitment to “integrating technology solutions that elevate our service offerings and enhance how guests experience our property.”
Castro added that introducing the robotaxis will strengthen Vegas’s position “as a global innovation hub.”
While an AI-run hotel is taking reservations for July in Vegas, and vehicles that have no manual controls may be the future of Sin City, the Zoox brand has other day-to-day issues to address in California.
