Florida Authorities Shut Down Five Illegal Casinos

  • The illegal gambling establishments were all located in Brevard County
  • Two other venues were also searched and had illegal machines confiscated

Five illegal casinos have been shut down in Florida in a joint operation between the Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) and law enforcement.

Agents from the FGCC aided the Brevard County Sherriff’s office in executing search warrants for the five illegal casinos and seized illegal gaming machines from two more establishments.

More than 500 illegal machines and other equipment were seized along with $845,000, as well as a 2022 Chevy Silverado. Over $5,000 and 19 illegal machines were confiscated from the two other locations. Three people were arrested on charges of operating illegal gambling establishments and illegal possession of slot machines and gaming devices.

In a statement, Ross Marshman, Acting Executive Director of the Florida Gaming Control Commission, said: “The cooperative relationships developed between the Florida Gaming Control Commission and our partner law enforcement agencies are essential to fulfill our mission, and these efforts are making an impact.

“Through innovative strategies, enhanced resources and collaboration, these partnerships reflect our dedication to fostering trust and accountability while effectively addressing public safety concerns related to illicit gambling locations.”
