BetMGM Moving Sportsbook Out of Cincinnati Reds’ Great American Ballpark After Poor Results

Despite only being open for a few months, BetMGM has decided to move its retail sportsbook away from Great American Ball Park. The new location is The Banks, a development close to the Cincinnati Reds’ stadium and the Ohio River.

The existing facility at the ballpark will remain operational through the fall. The new location will contain a Nation Kitchen Bar and will be open for business on non-game days.

BetMGM became an official betting partner of the Cincinnati Reds in October 2022. It opened a retail sportsbook at Great American Ballpark in January and had a handle of just $119,802 in its first month, leading to an $8,646 loss.

According to figures from the Ohio Casino Control Commission, the BetMGM Sportsbook has one of the lowest levels of traffic among the state’s 14 retail offerings. The only sportsbook it outperformed in the first four months of the year was the Superbook facility.
