A new beginning

Caesars has launched the Caesars Racebook, an online horse racing betting app, for the first time, starting with Ohio and Florida. Caesars Entertainment announced the news on Wednesday that Caesars Sportsbook and NYRA Bets LLC worked together to bring the racebook to the table. The latter is the official New York Racing Association (NYYRA) online betting platform. There are plans to roll out the Caesars Racebook in other states over the course of 2021.

Caesars Racebook utilizes the NYRA Bets betting technology

Caesars Racebook utilizes the NYRA Bets betting technology to power the platform. There will be pari-mutuel betting available for races taking place at more than 250 racetracks across the globe. The Caesars Rewards loyalty program is integrated into the racebook, which means that users can earn rewards with each real money bet.

A major milestone

In the press release for the launch of Caesars Racebook, Caesars Digital chief development officer and senior vice president Dan Shapiro said: “The launch of Caesars Racebook is an important milestone as we continue to add wagering opportunities for our customers and livestreaming content for the first time.”

plans to launch it in about 30 different states

He went on to note that Caesars Racebook is the first horse racing advance deposit wagering app that integrated Caesars Rewards. Talking about future plans for Caesars Racebook, Shapiro said that there are plans to launch it in about 30 different states.

NYRA Bets general manager Matt Feig also welcomed the deal, saying “The partnership between NYRA Bets and Caesars is a win for horse racing, its stakeholders and countless racetracks around the world.”

Plenty of interest

Pari-mutuel betting is big business across the US; in 2021, the total betting handle was $12.2bn. Caesars has been a long-time supporter of US horse racing. It is the host of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s National Handicapping Championship at the Horseshoe Las Vegas. It also is in the process of developing a racetrack and casino in Nebraska.

NYRA Bets has been up and running since 2016 and is currently available in 30 states.

Caesars Sportsbook has been in partnership with NYRA Bets since January. The agreement saw Caesars became an official betting marketing partner in New York, which includes sponsoring the NYRA Turf Triple Series. These races take place at both Saratoga Race Course and Belmont Park. Plans to launch Caesars Racebook were announced in March.
