Launch set for spring

This spring, Caesars Sportsbook will launch its Caesars Racebook app in partnership with NYRA Bets, the New York Racing Association’s official online wagering platform.

The NYRA took to Twitter on Thursday to share news of its horse racing partnership with the iGaming and sports betting giant:

Caesars Racebook will integrate with NYRA Bets’ Advance Deposit Wagering (ADW) platform and will be available for download on iOS or Android devices.

horse races from over 250 tracks worldwide

Bettors will access pari-mutuel wagering services for horse races from over 250 tracks worldwide, including iconic US racing events such as the Preakness Stakes, the Kentucky Derby, the Belmont Stakes, and the Breeders’ Cup. Bettors wagering via Caesars Racebook will also earn Caesars Rewards.

Thursday’s new agreement signifies a major expansion of the deal struck in January, which made Caesars Sportsbook the NYRA’s official sports wagering marketing partner in New York, and title sponsor of the NYRA Turf Triple Series at Saratoga Race Course and Belmont Park.

Caesars horse racing hoofprint deepens

In an NYRA press release, Caesars Digital senior vice president and chief development officer, Dan Shapiro, said NYRA Bets gives users access to the world’s best horse racing content. He expressed pride in supporting the horse racing industry through the offering.

Similar to last year’s deal between BetMGM and the NYRA, the partnership represents a white label agreement. It means the racebook will utilize Caesars branding while being powered by the NYRA’s ADW platform and infrastructure.

While BetMGM’s partnership with the NYRA saw the sportsbook associate with horse racing for the first time, Caesars has been active in the space for many years. The Las Vegas-based brand already owns and operates horse racetracks at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in Indiana, Horseshoe Indianapolis, Harrah’s Philadelphia, and Eldorado Gaming Scioto Downs in Ohio.

NYRA eyes US expansion

NYRA President & CEO Dave O’Rourke said his organization considered it a “core responsibility” to expand the sport by increasing fans’ access to top-notch horse racing in the US and New York.

He described the Caesars-NYRA Bets ADW platform combination as an ideal way to roll out Caesars Racebook, “which will soon deliver all the NYRA Bets tools and advantages to the Caesars customer base.”

a major growth opportunity

O’Rourke has often reiterated that NYRA Bets is primarily a content producer. Given the massive expansion of sportsbooks in the US, and the fact their customer bases dwarf ADWs, sportsbooks can provide major growth opportunities for the NYRA brand, according to the CEO.
