Open season

Ever since a $1.13m Wheel of Fortune win in January, major jackpots have been hitting casinos along the Mississippi Gulf Coast with a freakish frequency of “almost one a week.”

$615,774.40 progressive jackpot

The latest, and second-largest jackpot to strike South MS this year, came on Monday when an unnamed player from Indiana played a perfect poker hand to win a $615,774.40 progressive jackpot.

Harrah’s Gulf Coast took to Instagram to share the memorable win in which the mystery Hoosian placed a $5 progressive wager on Three Card Poker and was dealt the ultimate hand, a diamond royal flush:

Thanks to the five diamonds, the Caesars Entertainment-operated casino now holds the record for South Mississippi’s second biggest jackpot of 2026.

Jackpot-rich region

Harrah’s Gulf Coast’s jackpot takes second place in 2026 behind one from Beau Rivage Resort and Casino, where a Baton Rouge woman turned a $3 bet into $1,132,124 on January 5 on IGT-manufactured slot, Wheel of Fortune.

Harrah’s royal diamond flush jackpot is, however, one of the Biloxi casino’s largest ever table game wins, as well as Coastal Mississippi’s.

Monday’s win was the 11th jackpot of $100k or more for South MS, for a total of nearly $3.2m won so far this year.

other progressive table game jackpots still up for grabs

Adding further lustre for jackpot seekers was Harrah’s Gulf Coast Director of Marketing Justin Hill. The Biloxi SunHerald cited the exec as stating multiple other progressive table game jackpots were still up for grabs, as of March 25.

Hill stated jackpots were still standing for Blazing Sevens Blackjack at $491,862, Face Up Pai Gow at $206,229, and I Love Suits Poker at $241,494.

Popular payouts

Hill added that Three Card Poker continues to be the go-to game for players who “enjoy fast-paced action and the chance for a large progressive payout.”

That was certainly the case over in New Jersey over St Patrick’s Day when a Three Card Poker player won a $832k jackpot on his first hand, at his very first visit to Caesars Atlantic City Casino.
