A stranger walked into an Atlantic City casino just before St. Patrick’s Day, went straight to a poker table, and won nearly $1m on the first hand of poker he played.
The stars aligned for the man from New Jersey, who set foot inside Caesars Atlantic City Hotel & Casino for the first time on March 14. The unnamed man’s first stop on the Caesars gaming floor was a Three Card Poker table, where he won a cool $832,549 on his very first hand.
“A little St. Patrick’s Day luck went a long way,” stated Caesars Entertainment’s Regional Director of Marketing and Communications Noel Stevenson on LinkedIn.

Caesars also issued a statement saying it was “amazing to see a guest hit a jackpot like that, especially on their first visit, and in this case, on the first hand.” The US entertainment giant added: “It’s the kind of win the lucky guest will never forget and a reminder that big moments can happen at any time.”
Another monster poker win came at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel in California recently, where an in-state resident won a $1.2m jackpot via a three-sevens diamond blackjack.
