Gambling trade news sites have named Circus Circus and Resorts World New York City the two US casinos with the “loosest slots.”

Taking the definition of loose slots as gaming machines that have a higher theoretical payout percentage and the perception of gamblers on where the most generous devices were located, a Florida-based trade publication listed the Vegas and New York pair as top.

Joining them were Borgata and Bally’s in Atlantic City, and Colorado’s Grande Casino. Other Vegas casinos in the top loose slots mix were Main Street Station Casino, The D Las Vegas, El Cortez Hotel & Casino, Palace Station, and Rampart Casino.

a slot with 88-92% RTP would be thought of as tight

According to the research, a slot with 96-98% Return to Player (RTP) is on the loose side, while a slot with 88-92% RTP would be thought of as tight.

Vegas travel site OnTheStrip is on record as stating that while a $1 slot machine on the Strip traditionally returns 95%-96%, Circus Circus “Magnificent 7’s $1 slot machine returns 97.4%.”

The perception of payouts at Resorts World New York City sits at 96.9% RTP, considerably higher than the averages of many US casinos. The publisher of Casino Player and Strictly Slots, meanwhile, conducted its own survey on the Queens casino, stating its 1,000 machines offered a 96.94% RTP.

In Atlantic City, Harrah’s tops the loosest charts at 91.65% RTP with Borgata at 91.03%. The survey said that Rocky Mountain Gaming (RMG)-owned Johnny Nolon’s Casino and Colorado Grande Casino in Cripple Creek hold the Colorado’s Loosest Slots award for six years running at between 93-94% RTP.

RMG executives Michael Gaughan III and David Ross reportedly believe in giving slot patrons a fair roll, evidenced by the firm receiving the Strictly Slots Loose Slots Program certification early this year.
