The fallout from the sports betting scandal that snagged Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and ex-Toronto Raptors center Jontay Porter is far from over, according to lawyers for the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York (USAO-EDY).

According to the New York Times, USAO-EDY attorneys confirmed they are examining more NBA games that may have been compromised as part of the Rozier-Porter scheme. Rozier was charged in October for his role in an illegal inside-information trading network for NBA betting.

other games that have not been made public yet.”

Another man charged, Timothy McCormack, got two years in jail last week for his role betting on games involving Rozier and Porter. USAO-EDY attorneys state McCormack was “involved in other games that have not been made public yet.”

Assistant Attorney for the EDY David Berman added that McCormack “has conducted himself in similar manners in other instances as well.”

Prosecutors stated last year that McCormack bet thousands of dollars on NBA games, including Hornets-Pelicans, Clippers-Raptors, and Kings-Raptors on March 23, 2023, January 26, 2024, and March 20, 2024, respectively.

These games, said Berman, are “among others that the government continues to investigate.”

According to the Times, the USAO-EDY did not divulge how many games are under scrutiny, or if any NBA players were involved. NBA spokesman Mike Bass said the league would continue to assist the investigation, and that: “The integrity of our game remains our highest priority.”
