Chick-fil-A Robbery Ends at Alabama Wind Creek Casino After High-Speed Chase

A woman is in jail after she robbed a Chick-fil-A drive-thru before gambling the stolen funds at a nearby casino. Kaudija Haynes allegedly forced fast food workers to hand over cash after she took out mace. Law enforcement said that the Birmingham resident proceeded to drive recklessly away from the Chick-fil-A.

Officers tracked the suspect to the Wind Creek Casino in Wetumpka, Alabama. A foot chase ensued after Haynes left the property and crashed her SUV. Officers from the Poarch Creek Tribal Police Department and Wetumpka Police Department apprehended her on Friday.

Somehow, Haynes didn’t sustain any injuries, as images on the police department’s Facebook page show the car’s front totally smashed in and suspended half in the air. Lead Wetumpka Police Chief Paul Irwin described how Haynes “put others in danger and could have killed herself.” He noted that gambling and drugs can “cause someone to do anything.”

The 32-year-old remains in custody and faces a number of charges, including resisting arrest, unlawfully possessing a controlled substance, and robbery.
