A couple has defied the odds and taken home a £1m ($1.3m) lottery jackpot for the second time. Richard Davies and Faye Stevenson-Davies originally won in June 2018 through the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker.

Their second windfall came in late November in the UK National Lottery’s Bonus Ball draw. Experts at Allwyn, the National Lottery’s operator, say that the chances of claiming these two prizes from the respective draws are over 24 trillion to one.

Richard helps out at a homeless center in Cardiff, and Faye volunteers as a cook

The couple didn’t let their original lottery win change them. Richard helps out at a homeless center in Cardiff, and Faye volunteers as a cook in a local community kitchen as well as providing mental health counseling to a charity.

They explained how they have helped people, given money to friends, and even donated a minibus to the local rugby club with their first windfall. Their plans are a bit different this time, as they intend to simply enjoy the moment and not rush into spending the money.

They initially were sceptical about going public with their win. However, the couple said that the news might cheer people up, as much of the news headlines have been dominated by “doom and gloom.”
