An Irish player who has yet to come forward grabbed the headlines in the UK recently after hitting all the right numbers to win €17m ($20m) in the Irish National Lottery’s (INL) EuroMillions jackpot.
The INL confirmed via a press release last week that the winning EuroMillions ticket was sold from a retail store in the Ulster region of the Republic of Ireland.
Spokesperson Emma Monaghan said the INL was “thrilled” an Irish player won, and that it was the second EuroMillions Jackpot won in Ireland this year, following the historic €250m ($293m) win in June.
Monaghan, however, also told players “to check their tickets very carefully” as the winner has yet to come forward.
sign the back of your ticket and keep it somewhere safe”
“If you are the winner, sign the back of your ticket and keep it somewhere safe. We’ll reveal more details about the winning location in the coming days.”
The winner not realizing they had won happened recently across the Pond in New Jersey, where the $90m Mega Millions winner only claimed their prize last week, days after the winning draw was announced. Adding to the $90m win the same month was a staggering $980m win on the same game by a player from Georgia.
